The 27th Amendment

No law, varying the compensation for the services of the senators and representatives,shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened.

I think that this is an important amendment because it stop congress from giving themselves raises and using up more of our tax money to pay themselves.

I thought that this was a good representation of what this amendment is suppose to prevent

I thought that this was funny and shows what the 27th amendment helps protect us against

The 26th Amendment

The right of citizens of the united states, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the united states or by any state on account of age. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

This was an important step and making the people in the military happy because they always argued that they are able to die for their country but they can't even vote.

I thought that this was a good representation of the 26th amendment

I think that this is a good representation of how the amendment was represented but I think that the support has been greatly reduced with today's youth because they don't really care about this type of thing

The 25th Amendment

Section 1.
In case of the removal of the president from office or of his death or resignation, the vice president shall become president.

Section 2.
Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the vice president, the president shall nominate a vice president who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both houses of congress.

This amendment set up the plan of succession in case the president or vice president is killed or unable to perform his duties as president.

I thought that this video was very relevant because in this case the amendment would have came into effect

I thought that this image was funny because it represents the stress that could happen and help in this situation by taking that person out of office and putting in the vice president to take over

The 24th Amendment

The right of citizens of the united states to vote in any primary or other election for president or vice president, for electors for president or vice president or for senator or representative in congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the united states or any state by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax

I thought that this amendment was really important because it finally got rid of the poll tax allowing everyone to vote without paying for it.

I thought that this was a good representation of this amendment because it was very important to the poor blacks of the south because it got rid of a way that the southerners where preventing them from voting.

I think that this is a good representation how mad people were about the poll taxes

The 23rd Amendment

Section 1.
The district constituting the seat of government of the united states shall appoint in such manner as the congress may direct: a number of electors of president and vice president equal to the whole number of senators and representatives in congress to which the district would be entitled if it were a state, but in no event more than the least populous state; they shall be in addition to those appointed by the states, but they shall be considered, for the purposes of the election of president and vice president, to be electors appointed by a state; and they shall meet in the district and perform such duties as provided by the twelfth article of amendment

Section 2.
The congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

I think that this is important because it gives the people living in the District of Columbia some say in what president gets elected, and this is important so everyone in the united states is represented with their votes

I thought that this was a good representation of what the residents are fighting for now.

I thought that this was a good representation of what the core of the 23rd amendment involved

The 22nd Amendment

No person shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice, and no person who has held the office of president, or acted as president, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected president shall be elected to the office of the president more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of president, when this article was proposed by the congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of president, or acting as president, during the term within which this article become operative from holding the office of president or acting as president during the remainder of such term.

Besides being overusing the word president, this amendment wasn't nearly as important as many of the others I believe because before the two term thing was just a tradition set by Washington, but sometimes more than two terms can do good, if they are a very productive president. If they weren't a very good president then they could just not be reelected the next election. I don't think that people are really that concerned with someone trying to take power such as a king or dictator because the other branches of the government could control them.

I think that it's funny that Nixon tried to repeal this so he could run another time before his scandal. On a side note, I thought it was funny that this is what the Watchmen play off of.

I thought that this was funny because of how popular Roosevelt was

The 21st Amendment

Section 1.
The 18th article of amendment to the constitution of the united states is hereby repealed.

This is a good amendment because it greatly reduced the crime rates again in the united states and because the 18th amendment wasn't really being followed by hardly anyone, and for something as important as an amendment to the constitution to not be followed, is embarrassing for the country.

 After the 21st amendment people like Al Capone didn't have as much of a business as they did before because of alcohol being legal again.

I thought that this picture was funny because it shows how much people were happy with the 21st amendment and how much support it had.
